I’m feeling an electric current in my body
Q: I’m feeling an electric current in my body. My body feels like it has an electric current running through it all day, actually. Mostly in mornings I shake and I feel nervous, worried, fearful.
Physically, I had all blood work and I’m healthy. I’m on medication which helps, but when it wears off that feeling is back.
No matter what I do it won’t stop. I feel frustrated and concerned that I will feel this sensation of electric current in my body forever.
Please tell me what I can do to naturally to remove this awful electric current sensation in my body. I’m afraid of the side-effects of my meds.

Eva’s response:
Feeling an electric current in your body is actually quite a common symptom of anxiety. It happens because you are tired, stressed and depleted at all levels: mind, body, spirit, emotionally.
I have personally experienced this as well – at it’s worst I experienced extreme anxiety with neurological symptoms and it felt like my entire body was live with electricity and I was feeling anxiety zaps in my body all over the place!
I also felt like I was missing heart beats and there were times that my heart would feel like it was beating out of my chest, along with a feeling of being unable to catch my breath.
Regarding your meds, that is a conversation to have with your doctor. Explain all of your concerns. If you feel ignored, dismissed or misunderstood, change your doctor – there are a LOT of them out there, and you may need to try a few before you find one you click with (same for therapists!)
But something you can do at the same time as all of the medical stuff is guided meditations and energy healing. More and more research is coming to light about how effective these strategies are for anxiety symptoms, such as the feeling of an electric current in your body like you’re talking about.
To start, I recommend you try my Neurological symptoms of anxiety meditation. It will help with all the electric zap, tingly, numb, twitchy feelings that anxiety can give you.
